Donation Process

Donate a Vehicle You donate a car you'd like to sell. All vehicle donations require a valid title in hand at the time of donation. We accept all motor vehicles (cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, boats). If it runs, great! If not, our students will work on it, developing their skills and increasing its value. If you cannot transport the car to us, we will arrange to pick it up for free.

Car Auction At our next car auction, your car will be sold to the highest bidder.

Tax Deduction You claim the selling price of the car as a tax-deductible donation to Arrowhead on your next tax return.

If your car sells for less than $500, you can choose to claim either fair market value for the car, or the selling price, whichever you prefer.
If your car sells for more than $500, you can claim the selling price.
You will receive a W-9 to fill out and return to Arrowhead. Provided you have returned the W-9, we will send you an IRS Form 1098c within the year that your vehicle was sold for your tax returns.

Purchasing a Vehicle

Titles will be released to buyers paying cash, credit or with a check secured with a bank letter of credit that includes the auction date, and the number of dollars the bank is willing to secure with the name of the buyer being secured. If the buyer does not have a letter of credit, the title(s) will be mailed once the check clears the bank. The vehicles offered for sale at public auction are sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. The buyer will pay all costs for any repairs. Arrowhead assumes no responsibility for any repairs, regardless of any repairs and regardless of any statements about the vehicle. Cash or credit card preferred. All checks will need to clear before the buyer receives the title, up to 15 days processing.
